Principles I use
I believe that everyone should be able to make the most of their financial opportunities. I promote equality and fairness in all of my dealings and avoid conflicts of interest. Where I can, I provide education and support to increase the overall level of financial understanding in the community.
I pride myself on being approachable and promise to listen and understand your story without judgement. Regardless of where you are now, I am excited to look forward with you to a better financial future.
I don’t offer get rich quick schemes or silver bullets. I want to form long term partnerships with my clients who can rely on me to be looking out for them. All risks are carefully considered and weighed against the long term objective. My fees are fixed price and agreed in advance.
I pride myself on my thirst for knowledge and my analysis and problem solving. I enjoy staying up to date with developments in personal finance and looking for ways to apply them to help clients.
I strive to always be honest and straight talking in my dealings and communications. I take a pragmatic approach to advice recommendations by developing strategies that are meaningful and workable.
Whilst I want to make a big impact on your future, I like to do it in a low impact way. I admire elegant simplicity and don’t believe in making my advice unnecessarily complicated. I look for solutions that offer value for money and if I cannot help you I will say so and recommend someone who can. I care for the environment and support responsible investing.
About me, Anne Taylor
I usually describe myself as a total nerd. I enjoy nothing better than a good spreadsheet or using the internet to do some detailed research about whatever is taking my fancy. I also enjoy spending time with my husband and two teenage boys, cooking, bushwalking and playing with my collection of Rubik cubes.
Prior to working in financial planning, I had an extensive career in Information Technology. I worked as a financial software programmer in the UK in the 80s before moving to Australia in the 90s and taking up project management.
I chose to become a financial planner when I found myself becoming more and more interested in how people manage their financial affairs and make decisions around money. I feel deep concern for those who are having to plan for their own future security, but who feel unsure or under equipped for the challenge.
I served my apprenticeship by working in a number of different financial planning practices. Through this I was able to gain experience across a broad range of client styles and situations. Whilst helping a lot of people, I was still disappointed with the predominant sales and commission culture and saw how it could lead to conflicts of interest.
I was delighted to finally open my own boutique practice, where as principal, I can define the way in which my advice is given. In order to make sure that I am working only for my clients, my advice fees are fixed price, agreed in advance with no commissions or percentage based charges.
I hold a Bachelor of Business (Financial Planning) with Distinction from RMIT University.
